Course Description

Dr. Kellogg (PhD in English, WSET Level 2) invites you to join her for a studious series of wine tasting events, in which you can focus on practicing a specific wine tasting skill (like detecting carbonic maceration or using retronasal olfaction). Along the way, you'll hear from other faculty members with expertise in biology and chemistry, who will give brief and accessible overviews of how culture, history, chemistry, and biology shape the way wine looks, smells, and tastes. This class is for wine lovers at any level - from people looking to calibrate their palates to those who just want to feel a bit more confident ordering from a wine menu. Come be curious. Come have fun. Come try four really nice wines!
