Course Description

This course, designed as a writing workshop, celebrates the joys of writing and the many reasons that anyone can develop a writing practice (no writing experience necessary). Writing can serve as meditation, support well-being, and prompt memories. Writing is a process for problem-solving, connecting with the community, and sense-making in complicated times. Each class includes a short warm-up, two longer writes launched from invitational prompts, and the opportunity to read a portion of just-written works to the group. Following the facilitated method of the Amherst Writers & Artists (AWA), participants will provide strengths-based feedback to the newly created works. Bring your favorite writing supplies (notebooks & pens, or devices).
