Course Description

These interactive sessions will inform and enlighten attendees concerning the best aspects of children’s literature as well as the controversy that some books have recently encountered. We'll first examine "The Classics," covering the best read-aloud books that have stood the test of time. The next session, "Choices and Changes," deals with contemporary tales and selecting the right book for each child. Lastly, we'll explore "Examining Challenges, Book Banning, and Problematic Authors," which deals with current problems concerning what’s appropriate for today’s young people. Note: Each session will provide door prizes, including books of the titles discussed!
