Course Description

The class assumes a basic familiarity with the rules of bridge. The first session will start with a review of Standard American Yellow Card (SAYC) bidding and introduce an alternative system, Precision Club. Initial emphasis will be opener hand evaluations and partner/responder hand evaluations. Conventions like Stayman, Blackwood, Gerber, and Jacoby transfers will be introduced and practiced in the second session. The third session will focus on competitive bids and interference. Forcing, invitational and sign off concepts will be practiced along with sacrifice bidding. The final session will focus on declarer and defensive play including preference signals, count signals, and cue bids.
