Course Description

Visit JMU's own John C. Well Planetarium! This LLI-only show will include a full-dome viewing of a 30-minute film of your groups choosing. A JMU staff member will lead us through an immersive star-talk that entails exploration of the night sky here in Harrisonburg! Utilzing their one-of-a-kind starball projector, view the night sky with technology that allows you to see the size, brightness, and color of individual stars and planets that you cannot get with an all digital system. Come with questions and an eye towards the stars!

The John C. Wells Planetarium is located on the campus of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The planetarium first opened at JMU in 1956 under the direction of Dr. John C. Wells, head of the Physics Department.

Notes
